Abdulla Abu Wasel serves as a Board Member and Chief of Staff of The Hague Institute for Global Justice. He is a Partner at Wasel & Wasel, a global geopolicy and disputes firm, and Secretary-General of the Jordan International Arbitration Centre.

A practitioner of international arbitration across multiple industries and jurisdictions, Abdulla has served as counsel on investment arbitration disputes, representing high-net-worth investors in claims against sovereign states under bilateral investment treaties. He has appeared before arbitral tribunals constituted under the auspices of numerous leading arbitral institutions and has guided clients through the enforcement and set-aside of arbitral awards across a range of jurisdictions. His practice is distinguished by its focus on matters where legal rights intersect with sovereign immunity, state interests, and broader geopolitical considerations.

Abdulla is also among the few expert consultants operating at the intersection of law and the commercial space industry. A registered lobbyist in Washington, D.C., he has appeared before the U.S. Congress on commercial space policy and maintains an extensive network spanning the governmental and commercial levels of the U.S. space sector. He was a key author of The Washington Compact, developed under the umbrella of The Hague Institute for Global Justice. He has further counseled on commercial space tourism matters and engaged with embassies and consulates in Washington, D.C.

Through his work bridging dispute resolution, diplomacy, and emerging frontiers of governance, Abdulla advances the Institute’s mission at the intersection of peace, security, and justice.
